Joseph Anderson

Joseph Roger Anderson Sr., 75 of Joelton passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021. Born in Nashville, March 6, 1946, he was the son of the late John W. Anderson and Lavada McClain. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Judy and Julie. Early on he worked at H.G. Hills and was a supervisor at Oscar Mayer in Goodlettsville, before becoming a successful businessman in the insurance and securities profession.  He started at A. L. Williams meeting all goals and becoming National Sales Director and Reginal Vice President.  He also went on to become an Officer of Supervisory Jurisdiction having responsibilities for agents and branch offices within his region.  As National Marketing Organizer, Roger hired and trained agencies nationwide. Roger won numerous awards and trips both home and abroad for his outstanding performance. In the industry he made close life-long friends that were very dear to him. One of his joys in life was riding around in a “fine car” and listening to loud music.  He also enjoyed traveling with his family. His proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He was a member of John B. Garrett Masonic Lodge #711; a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason; and a Shriner at Al Menah Temple in Nashville. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Roger is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda (Creasy) Anderson; his children, Christy Holly (Robert), Wendy Anderson Middleton (Frank) and Joe Anderson (Rebekah); his grandchildren, Marisa, Joseph III, Kristen and Alli; siblings Michael, Connie, Terry, Jerry, Gerald, Donald and Kathy; extended family members and many friends. Visitation will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN, Thursday from 4 to 8 PM with a Masonic Evergreen Service at 7:45 PM, and Friday from 11 AM until 2 PM. A celebration of Life Service will be held at the Funeral Home Friday at 2 PM followed by interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
