Johnnie LeRoy Ayers, age 93, of Goodlettsville, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his home. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was a retired machinist from Ford Glass Plant and is a member of Walkers United Methodist Church and JEG Sunday School Class.
Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Danieth Woodard Ayers; son, Jerry Lee Ayers; brothers, Thomas, Charlie, Earl and James Ayers; sisters, Dot Ayers, Ollie Redding, Eunice Hitt, and Bessie Ayers; son-in-law, Norman Walrond; and two great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Linda Walrond, Roy D. (Debbie) Ayers, Johnny M. (Joni) Ayers; daughter-in-law, Diane Ayers; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3-8pm Sunday and again from 10am-12pm Monday at the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Virginia Kessen and Bro. Bill Roark officiating. Burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
