Johnie Hosfield

HOSFIELD, Johnie, age 87, Nashville, May 8, 2009. Preceded in death by husband, Cecil A. Hosfield; parents, John D. and Eugenia Freeman Smotherman; step-son, Thomas C. Hosfield. Survived by two step-daughters, Mary Ann Bob Toft, and Betty Dean Cope; 8 step-grandchildren; 11 step- great grandchildren. She graduated from Hume-Fogg High School, earned her B.S. degree from George Peabody College, and was employed by the federal government for 3 years, the last 29 with TVA. A member of Woodmont Baptist Church and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class; the Nashville Coin Club, AARP, the Red Hat Society, the "Let's Dance" Club where she had held various positions of office, secretary to the Nashville Chapter of the TVA Retirement Association, and a 10-gallon donor to the American Red Cross. A loving, thoughtful person who will be greatly missed by all. Funeral service will be Monday, 10 am, May 11, 2009 at Woodmont Baptist Church, 2100 Woodmont Blvd., with Dr. Jon Roebuck and Dr. Bert Dyson officiating. Honorary pallbearers: Golden Rule Sunday School Class of Woodmont Baptist Church, and the 9:30 St. Thomas Cardiac Exercise Class. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro, TN.
