LEE, John Jack Wyatt born February 23, 1918 and died November 19, 2007. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward Washington Lee and Nan Isbell Roberts, his wife of 64 years Iva Boyd Lee, his son John Jack Wyatt Lee, Jr., and his brothers Edward W. Lee and Albert Houston Roberts III. He is survived by his daughter Melinda Lee Culver, her husband, Rod Bellomy, grandsons Wyatt Lee Culver and Boyd Thomas Culver, sister Caroline Robert, and many nieces and nephews. Jack grew up in the Belmont section of Nashville. He attended city schools and Lipscomb College. His first employment was as a case worker with the Davidson Country Department of Public Welfare and later as an attendance worker with the Nashville City Schools where he met Iva Boyd. In the late 30's he was active in the Tennessee National Guard, Horse Cavalry,
E Troop, 109 Regiment. During World War II, he served as pilot on the B17 Flying Fortress with the 8th Air Force out of England. In 1945, he and his brother founded Nashville Mortgage and Realty Company which operated until Jack's retirement in 1982. Mr. Lee was active with the Nashville Board of Realtors and served as its President in 1951. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Officiants will be the Reverends Horace Bass and Joseph Davis. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hill Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jim Slaten, George Meares, Dutch Adkinson, Phil Neal, Walter Keith, Mike Crain, Tom Lazenby, and Ray Culver, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Dishman, J. Porter Ellis, Maclin P. Davis, Jr., Coleman Boyd, Woodson Martin, Elton Chapman, Mike Burton, Robert Keenan, Gordon McDaniels, and F. A. McIntire. Visitation will be two hours before the service 12 - 2 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
