John Humphrey

John Leonard Humphrey, age 70, of Goodlettsville, passed away suddenly November 27, 2019. He was born in Nashville, TN on November 9, 1949 to the late Alfred and Jeffie Humphrey. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, June Pugh Humphrey; their children, Joanna (Joel) Zimmerle, Jordan (Tiffani) Humphrey, and Joseph Humphrey; grandchildren, Jacob Humphrey, James Humphrey, and Joshua Zimmerle; brothers, Larry (Elaine) Humphrey, and Tom (Teresa) Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a veteran in the United States Army, and was recently retired from the State of Tennessee where he was a Systems Administrator. John always placed God first in his life. He served the Lord in his community for many years in the local churches, and volunteered at a local school helping underprivileged children with reading. His love for his family came only after his love of the Lord, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved all Vanderbilt Sports and the Tennessee Titans. A celebration of his life will be on Sunday December 1, 2019 at Goodlettsville Church of the Nazarene with visitation from 1pm until the service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of one's choice.
