John Clayton Hood, May 16, 2016, age 70. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Clayton Hood and Gladys Ferguson; step-mother, Alette Hood, sister, Juanita Martin. Survived by the love of his life and wife of 23 years, Diane Hood; children, Kelley Hood, Moneka (Kristian) Prock, Tammy Potter, Rick (Martha) Potter; grandchildren, Aaron (Holly) Hollins, Sydney Asher Seaton, Landry Jo Potter; great-grandchild, Copper Hollins; sister, Jo Ann Hood, and many extended family members and friends. John loved and adored his children and grandchildren. He also loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid UT fan. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. He was a very giving person and considered the rock of his family. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, Hendersonville Thursday from 4-8pm, and on Friday from 12 Noon until service time at 2pm with Mike McClanahan and Aarron Schwartz, officiating. Interment Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers: Jason Martin, Jed Martin, Josh Arnold, Aaron Martin, Steve Gentry, Asher Seaton, Chase Martin, Gerry Hood, Aaron Hollands. Honorary pallbearers, Zach Martin, Lannie and Dianne Holland, Don Allen, Bob Hood, Evan Dooley, Kristian Prock, and the Ed Bradley Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Fund at Hendersonville First Baptist Church or Restoration Church in Nashville.
