GARRETT, John Claude III. August 8, 2008, age 59 of Goodlettsville. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Garrett, Jr; grandparents, Claude and Catherine Garrett Sr, and Matthew and Nola Bigger, of Selma, TN. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Susan Garrett; daughters, Leslie Anne (David) Stephens, Rachel Lenore (Andy) McCloud; son, Johnny C. (Kara) Garrett IV; brothers, Timothy (Theresa) Garrett, Wilson Cole Garrett; sister, Nola Virginia (Sonny) Nichols; grandchildren, Olivia Grace McCloud, Garrett Wilson Stephens, Andrew Prescott McCloud, Jackson Cole Garrett, Ardella Catherine Garrett, and Adelynn Anne Garrett; mother, Mrs. John C. (Elizabeth Anne) Garrett. Mr. Garrett graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy, and the University of Tennessee Knoxville . He was a life loyal member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Following the John Claudes before him, he presided over the Bank of Goodlettsville as the youngest CEO, Chairman, and President of a bank in the state of Tennessee. Mr. Garrett was also co-owner of Cole & Garrett Funeral Homes as a licensed Funeral Director. He loved his family, his hunting, and the entire city of Goodlettsville that he was such an active part. Funeral service will be held Monday August 11 at 2 pm from the First Baptist Church of Goodlettsville with Rev. Randy Ray, officiating. Visitation at the church Monday will be from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Garrett, Will Garrett, Tim Garrett, Matt Garrett, Sonny Nichols, David Stephens, Andy McCloud, Tommy Thomas, Terry Abernathy, and Jim Bigger Hodge. For those desiring, donations may be made to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, the ACC Network, Goodlettsville Help Center, the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Heart Association.
