John Dorris

John Martin Dorris, age 84 of Goodlettsville, passed away November 17, 2020. He was born on March 5, 1936 in Robertson County, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents Leona Suter and H.L. "Jim" Dorris, and his sisters Agnes Smith, Lillian Cawthon, and brothers Elvin, Billie, Clarence, and Willard Dorris. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Bowers Dorris; daughters Marti Jo Hartman (Phil), and Amanda B. Neely; grandchildren Ainsley Jo Hartman, Avery Noelle Toy (J.J.), and Ronald E. "Trey" Neely, III. He was a graduate of Greenbrier High School and attended UT Nashville. He retired from Ford Motor Company Glass Plant in Nashville, and was a Baptist. The family would like to thank Jody Galbreath, Billy Ray Dorris, and Jeff Smith, as well as the nurses and staff at Stoneridge Healthcare and Grace Manor Assisted Living. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Meals on Wheels program at either First Baptist Church Goodlettsville or at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church.
