Joel Hyder

HYDER, Joel Edward "Ed" Died at home on November 1, 2009 with his loving family at his side. He was born August 13, 1925 to the late John A. Hyder and Mary Jane Wyatt Hyder. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Perdue Hyder; sons, Michael and David Hyder; daughter, Patsy Hyder; granddaughter, Rommie Hyder; brothers, Willy, Irvin and Albert; sisters, Clemmie Waltrop, Myrtle Keith and Bell Hyder. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty Lamb Hyder; children, Tony Hyder (Laude), Lisa Ferguson (Dan), Darell Hyder (Gwen), Dawn Davis (George), Sherry Paone (Mark); sister, Hattie Williamson; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; special friend, Tommy (Shorty) Choate. He retired from Ford Glass Plant after 30 years of service and was a member of Campbell Road Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday (today) and 12 - 2 p.m. on Thursday at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the funeral home with Brother Leslie Webb officiating. Active Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers are Retires of Ford Glass Plant. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
