WIGGINS, Joe F. of Nashville passed away unexpectedly in his sleep December 8, 2006, two days after his 84th birthday. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gerri Wiggins, and survived by daughter, Lea Wiggins Stouffer, and her husband, Barry Stouffer, and many dear friends. Joe served as a marine aboard the U.S.S. Columbia in the Pacific Theater from 1943-1945 during W.W.II. He was awarded six Battle Stars, the Purple Heart and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. He was a retired employee of South Central Bell. Mr. Wiggins was affectionately known as "The Mayor'' of the Mall of Green Hills, a greeter and a friend to all. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
