Joe L. Kitts, Jr., 75, died Saturday, August 25, 2018. Born in Murfreesboro on May 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Joe L. Kitts and Ruth Harrell Kitts. Joe was also preceded in death by his sister, Diane Kitts Springer. He was an Army veteran and retired as a court officer for the City of Nashville. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching UT Footbal and Basketball as well as following the Lady Vols. He enjoyed going to the beach and for many years he and his family would go to Orange Beach. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pheobe (Ahern) Kitts; his brother, Chuck Kitts; son, Jeff (Ann) Collins; grandsons, Eric and Will Collins; and many friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29th from 5 - 7 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. A graveside service will be conducted, Thursday, Augst 30th at 11 AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity of Nashville, or Freedom Farms Animal Rescue.
