Jo Cope

Mrs. Jo Reba Cope, age 96, of Nashville, passed away on April 5, 2023, supported by her loving family. She was born in Nashville, TN on October 18, 1926, to the late David and Katherine Pope. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fred Cope, Sr.; son, Dennis Wayne Cope; great grandson, Joey Cunningham; and siblings, David Pope, Ella Andrews, and Jon Rhea Bowers.

Jo Reba was a member of Goodlettsville Church of Christ where she loved to teach Sunday School. She served as a nurse for many years at Nashville General Hospital and cared personally for many of her family members. She also enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren, collecting recipes, and baking delicious desserts.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed.

Jo Reba is survived by her sons, Fred (Cheri) Cope and Ron (Joyce) Cope; grandchildren, Alan (Kristy) Cope, Leanne (Bert) Paddock, Sheron (Adam) Davidson, Deana (Eric) Cunningham, Andrea (Hank) Staggs, Leslie (Josh) Leyhew, Steven (Ivy) Cope, and Gary (Lisa) Cope; great grandchildren, Andrew, Nate, Luke, Ezra, Ember, Jayden, Evelyn, Ben, Corbin, Lila, Zack, Alex, Julia, Anna, Abbott, Cope, Olivia, Zachary, Danielle, and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, April 11th at Goodlettsville Church of Christ with burial at Palmer’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10am-11am prior to the service.
