Jimmy Douglas "Coon" Hooper was born May 10, 1941 in Davidson County, Tennessee. He passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 75. He was the son of the late Percy and Mildred Hooper.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna Huffine Hooper; three devoted daughters, Sherea (Troy) Thompson, Gidgett (Lloyd Vance) Thompson, Tiffany (Randy) Binkley; four grandchildren, Cody and Tabitha Thompson, Kaci and Crimson Binkley; one great-granddaughter, Paisley Thompson.
Jimmy worked as an electrician at Huffine's Electric. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a huge Vanderbilt fan. He was loved by many and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12th from the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home Chapel in Goodlettsville. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Lloyd Vance Thompson, Troy Thompson, Cody Thompson, Randy Binkley, Crimson Binkley, Anthony Plummer serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Jimmy's family extends a special thank you to the wonderful employees of Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis Center in Hendersonville, TN for all the loving care you gave Jimmy the past nine years. Your kindness will always be remembered and appreciated.
