Jerry Lee Bowen Sr, 80, of White House, TN, passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Portland, TN.
Born in Central City, Ky on October 7th, 1942, he was the son of the late Leslie and Lennie Bowen. Jerry was also preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, of almost 36 years; brothers, Neal and youngest Larry who passed before Jerry the morning of February 14th, 2023; sister, Emma; and sister in laws, Eva, Martha and Carolyn Bowen.
He is survived by son, Jerry Bowen Jr (Carol); brothers, Glen (Nancy) Bowen and Shelton Bowen; grandchildren, Alexander Bowen and Rebecca (Joshua) Hollis; great grandsons Josiah, Gideon and Daniel Hollis.
“Dad”, which Jerry was affectionately called, served in the Army. He was stationed in Hataka, Japan and was part of the Army Security Agency. Due to the top classification of his detail, even with his severe dementia, he refused to discuss the nature of his missions while on duty.
He worked at the Chrysler assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois for 38 years as a welder and welding inspector. After his retirement, Jerry and Marlene followed their dream of moving to Arizona. They enjoyed living there for 14 years until the passing of his wife Marlene. He then moved to White House, TN to be closer to family.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mr. Jerry Lee Bowen Sr. Saturday, February 25th 1:00pm at Frontlines Church 266 Morrison Street, Gallatin, TN.
Service will be officiated by Chaplin Randy Compton.
