Jean Carol Stone Yount, age 82 of Greenbrier, passed away on October 8, 2017 after a long and courageous battle.
She was born on March 4, 1935 in Erwin, Tennessee to the late George E. and Sallie Futrell Stone.
Mrs. Yount was a vibrant lady that loved her family and church. She enjoyed time watching Alabama Football yelling "Roll Tide." A memory that was shared was listening to her play the piano, songs like "In the Garden" and "For me & my gal" that she and Lenny would play together and going to church at Highland Chapel Union Church on Sundays.
She worked hard all of her life as a real estate broker. She was the true definition of a professional; you would find her most days driving around meeting with clients and making sure they had the best deal and the home of their dreams. After almost 40 years in real estate, Mrs. Yount finally retiring at the age of 80.
Her energetic personality didn't keep her still for long. She enjoyed visiting places like Gatlinburg, California, New York and the Gulf of Mexico, yet her biggest adventure was traveling to Paris, France; she said "It was the trip of a lifetime" and was glad to share it with her companion and partner in life, Lenny.
Family traditions are something Mrs. Yount instilled into her children. Every Christmas like clockwork she would have them get the ladder and pull down the numerous Christmas decorations that were to be placed around the house and on the live Christmas tree. When Christmas morning came around you would find the family enjoying a country ham breakfast at their mothers table.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Yount is preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Yount, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Connie L. Edwards, Donald C. (Tamara) Yount, Jr., William E. Yount, and Donna Y. (Brett) Parker; companion of 30 yrs, Lenny William; grandsons, Michael (Kara) Edwards, William (Audrey) Williams, Craig Yount, Daniel Edwards, Josh Yount, Ben Novotnak, and Aidan Yount; and 3 great-granddaughters.
A Life Celebration will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Briggs officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10th from 4-8 pm then again on Wednesday from 12pm until the time of service.
