Jean Tobey

TOBEY, Jean Doris 87, Nashville, April 11, 2008. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Richard Tobey; parents, William and Ruby Neal. Survived by children, Carol Joe Chambers, Neal C. Gwen Tobey, Linnea Jean Gilliland. Grandchildren, Ryan Chris Leigh Hahn, Chandler Erin Paul Thompson, and Adam Neal Gilliland. Great-grandchildren, McKenna Grace Hahn, and Madelynn Rose Thompson; sister, Shirley William O'Rork. She was a children's librarian at Metro Nashville Public Library, longtime volunteer at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital, longtime member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, 7th and Broadway. She taught English to foreign students and participated in many foreign mission trips. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The memorial service will be at First Baptist, 7 and Broadway, Nashville, on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 1 pm with visitation one hour prior to service.
