McCoy, Janice Elaine---Age 53 of Nashville passed away October 12, 2007. Preceded in death by father John Marshall Christopher Jr. and father-in-law Robert Ambrose McCoy. Survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert Mack McCoy; daughter, Heather Eilis McCoy; son, Christopher Ryan Mack McCoy; mother Vanita Mildred Christopher; mother-in-law, Jean McCoy; brother-in-law, David McCoy and his wife Allison McCoy; sister-in-law, Carol Nelson and her husband Don Nelson; nieces, Mary Elizabeth McCoy, Anna McCoy, Holly Nelson; nephew Hagen Nelson; and devoted dog Major McCoy.
Born in Knoxville, TN, she received her Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1976. She worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Creivewood Baptist Church, South End United Methodist Church and Berry Elementary, and a first grade teacher at Berry Elementary and Mount View Elementary.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was active in sending anniversary cards to members of the church.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, being with children and doing outreach services.
Visitation services will be Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 4 p.m. -8 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy. 100.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 508 Franklin Rd. followed by interment at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy. 100.
