Janet Dougherty

Janet Marie Reasoner Dougherty of Charlotte, NC, went to be with our Lord, March
20, 2011, after a year-long battle with gastric cancer. She was born in Nashville, TN on July 27, 1958, where she spent her early childhood.

Survived by her parents Thomas Hayden Reasoner and Margery Ruth Rawls Reasoner,
formerly of Nashville, now residing in Tarpon Springs, FL. In addition to her parents, Janet is survived by her husband David and sons Michael and Patrick of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are sisters Bonnie Mills and husband John of Tarpon Springs, FL, Linda Lutton and husband Craig of Atlanta, GA, Katrina Koscielniak and husband David of Land O'Lakes, FL, and brother Thomas Reasoner and wife Aimee of San Diego, CA, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Janet was the granddaughter of the late Henry Hayden Reasoner and Florence Edna Fields Reasoner and Ernest Edgar Rawls and Emma Mae Clinard Rawls.

Janet received a degree in Business from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
Her family was her first priority. She truly loved being a 'Soccer Mom' and attended all of Michael and Patrick's games. Reading was her passion and Janet was seldom seen without a book. She was a member of Forest Hill Church and a volunteer at A Better World, associated with Christ Resurrection Church in Charlotte.

The family will receive visitors from 2-8 pm Sunday. Funeral service will be held Monday March 28 at 1 pm with visitation one hour prior to service time. Internment will be at The Reasoner Family Cemetery, Ivey Point Road, Goodlettsville, TN. Flowers may be sent to Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the historic Reasoner Family Cemetery, 1209 N. Florida Ave., Tarpon Springs FL.
