OSBORNE, Jane O'Neal HolmanAge 83 of Goodlettsville, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at her home. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Thomas M. Osborne; her children, T.M. Osborne, Jr., William O. Osborne (Lisa), Lori O. Cordell (Jeff) and nephew, James H. Shannon (Laurie). She is also survived by grandchildren, Kathryn O. Newman (Luke), Jane Ann Cordell, Brice O. Cordell, Jackson Shannon, Hayes Shannon, Grace Shannon and cousins, Robert O. Boyle (Martha) and W.C. "Johnny" Boyle (Charlotte). Mrs. Osborne, born March 29, 1927, was the daughter of the late William S. and Jane O. Holman of Springfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancye H. Shannon of Greenbrier and Mary Ruth Hall of Lynchburg. As a faithful member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, Mrs. Osborne served there in many capacities. A 1944 graduate of Springfield High School and 1947 graduate of MTSU, Mrs. Osborne was the Home Economics educator for 27 years at Goodlettsville High School and Goodlettsville Middle School. She was known by many as the "Parsley Queen" of Goodlettsville because of her 17 years of service to the Meals on Wheels program. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. The family will receive friends at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home Tuesday, August 24th from 3 - 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A celebration of her life will take place at the church at 12 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers are: Todd Reynolds, Tommy Adams, Billy Dorris, Brice Cordell, Luke Newman, Jackson Shannon, Hayes Shannon, Bobby Boyle and Johnny Boyle. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Goodwill Sunday School Class, UMW Circle, Team #1 Meals on Wheels, The Frost, Clay, Haynes, Davis and Moore families. COLE & GARRETT FUNERAL HOME, (615) 859-5231.
