James L. Turnbow, age 68, of Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011. Jim was a proud 21-year veteran of the United States Army and retired as Sergeant Major in 1986. After his retirement from the service, he spent 15 years with the United States Postal Service in Hendersonville as a postal carrier. Mr. Turnbow is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Marie; his mother, Lou Luft of Scottsdale, AZ; one daughter, Michele Thurston of Katy, TX, one son, Troy Jennifer Turnbow of Hendersonville; one brother, Vernon Anita Turnbow, of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one grand-pup. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 21 from 4 – 8 P.M. and on Tuesday, February 22 from 5:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 22 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Rev. Courtney Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors.
