Jacquelyn Schleicher, 94, passed away Tuesday December 1, 2020. Born in Greenbrier, TN September 16, 1926 she was one of 14 children of the late Everett Garrett McMurtry and Susan Eliza Dorris McMurtry. In addition to siblings including her twin sister, Joycelyn McMurtry Randall, Jacquelyn was also preceded by her daughter, Dona Jacquelyn Schleicher Stanfield, her great granddaughter Elizabeth Mary Briley, as well as her former husband, Donald Frank Schleicher, Sr. She is survived by children Kelly Joycelyn and Donald Frank, Jr. (Melissa), and by her grandchildren Ashley Stanfield (Jaderian), Adrienne Stanfield, Carson Denny, Lacy Jane Denny Wilson (Dann), Chandler Barnes, and Hunter Schleicher Premo (Cameron). She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren Cayden, Dylan, Nick, Alex, Robert, Jasper, Celia, Evie, Darby and Remy. Jacquelyn graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and became a physical education and health teacher with metro public schools for more than 30 years. While teaching she was a coach for girls basketball and tennis teams. She was an active member of Andrew Price Memorial Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Ravenwood Country Club where she was an avid and accomplished tennis player. There will be a private family service with burial at Springfield Memorial Gardens. A public celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
