Homer Jones

Homer Jones, age 81, of Hendersonville passed away on Jan. 26, 2007 at National Health Care in Hendersonville. Mr. Jones was born March 2, 1925 to Joe and Betty Elizabeth Bollinger Jones in Greenbrier, TN. Mr. Jones served as a deacon at Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and had been attending the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville. He is survived by his wife, Opal A. Jones; a daughter, Jill Russ Hutcherson of Huntsville, AL; a son, Jack Jones of Gallatin; three grandsons, Jason Hutcherson of Pine Mountain, GA, Kevin Hutcherson of Huntsville, AL and Andy Jones of Goodlettsville; two granddaughters, Courtney and Christina Jones, both of Hendersonville; one great grandson, Matthew Hutcherson of Huntsville, AL; a brother, Richard Jones of Goodlettsville; and a sister, Betty Russell of Lewisburg. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 29, 2007 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The Jones family will receive friends at the Hendersonville Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2007 and also from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service on Monday, January 29, 2007. Jason and Kevin Hutcherson, Andy Jones, Tim Mercer, Perry Falcon and Eddie Stanton will serve as active pallbearers. Harold Fleming, Dr. Raymond Fuller, Mike Ward, John Bandy, the Disciple Makers Sunday School Class and the caregivers at National Heath Care in Hendersonville will act as honorary pallbearers.
