Hobart Franks

FRANKS, Hobart L. Age 88. Passed away at home on April 5, 2011. Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest L. Franks and Della K. Franks; his wife of 59 years, Mildred L. Franks. Survived by sister-in-law, Helen Franks; daughter, Sherry Arnold Bill; son, Ron Franks Maria; three grandchildren, Trey Arnold and wife Maria, Martin Franks and wife Ashleigh, Brittany Franks; great-grandson, Liam Arnold. Hobart served his country in WWII as a member of the "Hellcats" 12th Armored Division. He returned home to a career at Mercantile Stores, where he met his wife. He retired from Castner Knotts 44 1/2 years as a General Merchandise Mgr. He was a Mason and Shriner with membership in Louisville Kosair Temple and Nashville Al Menah Temple. Hobart was a charter member of St. David's Episcopal Church. He was an avid gardener.
