WOODS, Hilda Lee Burnsed, of Hendersonville, died on August 26, 2006 at home, after struggling with cancer for five years. She was a warm and loving person who brightened the lives of all she met. The world is a colder place following her passing. She had lived in Hendersonville, TN for the last 37 years. She was born February 21, 1925 in Miami, FL. She was the fifth child of James Harold and Arrie Pauline Burnsed. She married Robert L. Woods Sr. in 1942. She lived in Portsmouth, NH and Jacksonville Beach, FL. She was employed by Ivey's Department Store in Jacksonville, FL, and by Cain-Sloan Department Store in Nashville, TN. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 195, for more than 40 years. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Woods, Sr. She was the mother of four children: Robert L. Woods Jr. of Vienna VA, Captain James Lee Woods USAF, TANG who was lost at sea during a training flight in 1979, Cynthia Woods Black of Macon, GA, and Jean Woods Mitchell of Hendersonville, TN. Her grandchildren are Clair Anne Hartmann of Jacksonville FL, Elizabeth Anne Woods of Austin, TX, Heather Elizabeth Woods of Vienna, VA, Erin Alexandria Woods Phillips of Vienna, VA, Jamie Lee Culpepper of Dallas, GA, and James Lee Kendall of Murfreesboro, TN. Great grandchildren are: Christopher Mead of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Alexander Phillips of Vienna, VA, and Cason Geoffrey Culpepper, of Dallas, GA. She was preceded in death by her siblings Claude Leroy Burnsed, James Perry Burnsed, James Harold Burnsed, Jr., and Juanita Pauline Burnsed. She is survived by her sisters Helen Adams of Marysville, CA, Marie Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Anne Johnson of Grand Junction, CO, Betty Olsen of Columbia, SC, Catherine Scott of Angleton, TX, and Patricia Washington of Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Burial services will be private. "But Oh for the touch of a vanished hand, and the sound of a voice that is stilled."
