SUTTON, Jr., Herbert Spence born December 29, 1924 and died on August 13, 2009. He was the son of Herbert Spence Sutton, Sr. and Clara Barton Sutton. He was born in Birmingham Alabama. He attended Phillips High School and also graduated from Auburn University with two Bachelor degrees and a Masters Degree in Engineering. He was an engineer for Ford Motor Company working in Birmingham, Memphis, England and Germany and retired as the COO of Ford Glass Plant in Nashville. He served as a navigator in the Air Force during WWII and in Korea. He was an avid genealogist, master marksman, and a member National Rifle Association. He was a devoted member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. Mr. Sutton was a son of the American Revolution as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mamie Rose Sutton and his son Herbert Spence Sutton, III and brother, Frederick Barton Sutton. He is survived by nieces Carol LeGrand Sutton and Jane Barton Sutton of Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Monday August 17, 2009 at 11 am with funeral service to follow at 12 pm at the Belle Meade United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Ripski officiating.
