Herbert Summar

Summar, Herbert A. - Passed away on June 4th, 2008. He was born in Nashville on June 29th, 1931, the son of James Marshall Summar and Mamie Warner Summar. He was preceded in death by his brother James Marshall Summar II. He is survived by his wife, Janice Durham Summar, and his daughters, Susan Elizabeth Summar of Winter Park, Florida, and Noel Anne Summar o f Nashville, Tennessee; sister Jamie Summar; and brothers David Summar (Anneal) and Joe Summar (Betty). He was a graduate of East High School and attended Peabody College and Vanderbilt University. After serving in the Korean War, Herb had a career in commercial and residential real estate.
The visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church at the Cheek House on Saturday, June 21st from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The Memorial Service will be in the Chapel on Sunday, June 22nd at 2:00pm.
The family deeply appreciates the love and support from family and friends during his illness. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Alive Hospice at St. Thomas hospital or to the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
