TURNER, Henry Alton- Age 95, of Franklin, TN, was born in Limestone County, AL and passed away at his home on November 30, 2011 surrounded by his family. He lived a long and happy life by his motto "It is better to wear out than rust out!" A Sharp Shooter in the US Army, he was a veteran of WWII and Pearl Harbor survivor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Manson Turner and Annie Belle Bates Turner, brothers Artie, Theo, Edward, and Eugene Turner, and sisters Pauline Muse, Katherine White, and Mary Prater. He is survived by a large loving family including his wife of 65 years, Lillie Mae Griffin Turner; daughters and sons-in law, Ginni and Jamie Goldsberry and Carol and Hylton Hawkins; grandson Tyler Henry Hawkins; granddaughters Dana Goldsberry Mike Jones and Elizabeth Goldsberry Stanton Frazer; great grandchildren Carter Jones, Barrett Jones, Madeline Jones, Kendall Kelly, and Dulin Kelly; sister and brother-in-law Edith and Morris Prater of Huntsville, AL; several nieces and nephews. Sons-in-law, grandson, grandsons-in-law and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. He had an extensive sales career and retired as Sales Manager from Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens after 30 years. He was the oldest member of Crievewood Baptist Church for over 46 years; the members of his Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Adam Prudoff, Dr. Bobby White, Comfort Keepers and Willowbrook Hospice for their wonderful care. A celebration of life service will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Will Sensing officiating. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 pm–2:30 pm at HARPETH HIILS FUNERAL HOME, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN.
