PYLANT, Helen Vandiver DavisAge 91 of Nashville. February 04, 2011. Mrs. Pylant grew up in Knoxville, TN, the youngest of seven children of James T. and Martha Ann Vandiver. She is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Annemay "Vandy" (James) Summers, Virginia (Robert) Massengill, Ruth (Carl) Young, Margaret (Bob) Baylor, Mary (Dan) Byerley, and brother, John L. Vandiver; husbands, Mac Davis and Douglas Pylant; and grandson, James Russell Davis. She had a son, Graham (Gayle) Davis and two grandsons, Roger (Mimi) Davis and Daniel (Corrie) Davis; five great grandchildren, Bethany, Catherine, John, Mary Beth and Isaac Davis, and a step-daughter, Beth (Bobby) Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews. For many years, Mrs. Pylant worked as a secretary for the Federal Government, and later for the City of Hendersonville. She was a longtime member of Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She will be missed by her family and a wide circle of friends. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday with Bro. Kenny Butcher officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Interment will follow at Joelton Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and Monday from 12 - 1 p.m. at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, (615)859-5231.
