Harold Burkett

BURKETT, Brent passed away on October 13, 2007. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Burkett was a founding member of the Four Guys and a member of the Grand Ole Opry for 32 years. Mr. Burkett was known for his quick-witted sense of humor and his love for his family, friends, music, fishing and farming. He was a Plank Holder on the USS Independence. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Pat and a sister Barbara. Survived by his wife, Jacqueline Burkett; daughters, Shelley Danny Greer, Julie Burkett Butch Threet and Brenda Terry Oliphant; grandchildren, Danielle and Zane Greer, Cara and Burk Lewis, Courtney and Haley LaGrone; sister, Martha Spurlock; brother, Talmage Burkett; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends and fans whose lives he touched. Funeral services will be on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Ed Britt, Gary Buck and John Frost officiating. Interment will follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Danny Greer, Terry Oliphant, Butch Threet, Burk Lewis, Zane Greer and Joe Peden will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, American Cancer Society or the Opry Trust Fund 2804 Opryland Dr. Nashville Tn. 37214. Visitation will be on Monday from 12-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9- time of service at the HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville TN. 646-9292.
