We gather together to remember and celebrate the life of Glenda Brinkley. The death of Glenda is devastating to us, for she was only fifty-eight, so young, and so very kind. Glenda was a lady who was always compassionate and gentle towards her fellowman. She was enjoying a career as a school teacher and it's a great shock to many of us, especially the children who she taught, that she is gone. Glenda always had a cheerful disposition towards others. Some words that describe Glenda best were fun, loving, chatty, good hearted and a little bossy at times. She had many interests in life, to mention a few---she loved the UT Volunteers, farming (raising her chickens), basketball coaching, gambling, coins, history, psychology and loving her three dogs, Nike, Amy Bunches, and Abby, and her cat Macy. She enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family. She had a great passion for other people's children because of teaching and coaching. She loved traveling; some of her favorite places to visit were Galveston, Washington DC, the Bahamas, UT Knoxville and Vegas. Some of the people that influenced her life the most were her mother and dad, Aunt Maggie, Uncle Victor, Aunt Charlie, the Kennedy's and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Oh, did I mention, you did not want to discuss politics with Glenda for she would put you down! This is only a part of the life of Glenda, a friend to all of us here, and a great person who has walked the earth. The memory of Glenda will live on in all of our hearts forever.
Glenda was born in Madison, TN on May 24, 1957 to Benny Reese and Lillian Marie Brinkley. Her father preceded her in death, also her brother, Timothy Dee Brinkley and Uncle E. Dee Reid.
