George T. "Pa Pa" Swafford
George T. "Pa Pa" Swafford, age 80 of Gallatin, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2007 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. A native of Nashville, he was born to the late Josiah and Lola Swafford. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by Brother, Thomas Swafford, Sisters, Dorothy Yates, Pauline Hawthorne, and Lois Yates. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Opal Roberts Swafford of Gallatin, Daughters; Mary Ann Corlew Ronald of Gallatin, Georgia Dean Adams Sam of Madison, Nancy Lee Corlew Steve of Bethpage, Jeannie Garrett Donald of Nashville, Brothers; Gene Swafford Lucy of La Vergne, David Swafford Joyce of Lyles, and Tyrone Swafford of Donelson, Nine Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens at Crestview Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Sunday August 19, 2007 from 12 Noon until 8:00 P.M., and Monday at 11:00 A.M. until service time. Gallatin Funeral Home & Memory Gardens at Crestview is in charge of the arrangements.
