Gene E. Tidwell, age 82 of Gallatin passed away December 22, 2015. Mr. Tidwell was born on June 2, 1933 in Savannah, TN to the late Harry and Birdie Tidwell. He owned and operated Gene E. Tidwell Construction and was a General Contractor for over 45 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tidwell was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Tidwell and his grandson, Jason Frakes. He is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Russ) Cheatham and Charlotte (Harold) Frakes; grandchildren, Michael (Twila) Walker, Kelly (Diana) Frakes and Dylan Cheatham; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Walker, Sydnee Frakes, Joshua Walker, Lily Frakes and L.J. Frakes. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 24th at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Cole & Garrett Funeral Home with Lloyd Byers officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, December 23rd from 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
