Gary Hughes

Gary L. Hughes, 68, of Goodlettsville, passed away June 21, 2020. Born July 1, 1951 in Onaga, KS he was the son of the late William Guy Hughes and Maxine Trambley Hughes. Gary was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lee Hughes. He graduated from Waverly Central High School, Waverly, TN and also from vocational school where he received training as a welder. Gary was a veteran of the United States Air Force and continued to serve his country as a member of the Tennessee National Guard from which he retired. He had worked in the private sector at Nashville Bridge, Bennett Tool and Die, and Bell Construction. In his free-time he enjoyed running and bike riding. He was a member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey L. Hughes and Kristen Hughes; a sister, Cheryl Watson; a brother, Ronald R. (Judy) Hughes; and several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Goodlettsville Church of Christ, July 11, 2020 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Goodlettsville Church of Christ, 411 South Main St., Goodlettsville, TN 37072
