Born in DeKalb County, AL on May 20, 1933 Departed on August 15, 2013 and resided in Springville, TN

Eva H. Childs beloved wife, mother, and teacher passed away August 15, 2013 of natural causes. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard N. Childs and by her son, John Richard, and grandchildren, Mandy, John Robert, and Jessie. She was preceded in death by her son James Alfred.
The Childs family moved to the Nashville area in 1965 from Jamestown so that Rich could take a job with the State of Tennessee in Vocational Rehabilitation. Eva was a mother and homemaker, and also went to school to earn a Master's Degree in Education. She worked in the Davidson County Metro School system and also within the private school systems locally as a teacher.
Upon Rich's retirement 20 years ago, Eva and Rich moved to Springville, TN on the southern end of Kentucky Lake to enjoy fishing, gardening, and enjoying friends and family at the lake house. They were active members of Springville Baptist Church, rarely missing any service or church activity.
Eva and Rich were married August 11, 1957, and confirmed their vows in 2007 with a beautiful 50th anniversary celebration with friends and family at their church home in Springville. She will be missed by her family and friends, most especially by her loving and devoted husband.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Arthritis Foundation of Tennessee.
