Eugene Schilz

Eugene John Schilz, age 77, of Hendersonville, passed away February 28, 2007. Mr. Schilz served in the Marine Corps from 1951 until 1953 and had received the National Defense Service Ribbon. He served in the Reserve until 1959. Mr. Schilz was a member of the Hendersonville VFW Post and the Knight of Columbus. Mr. Schilz is survived his wife of 52 years, Millie Schilz; four sons, Dave Schilz, Mike Carol Ann Schilz, Mark Paula Schilz, and Patrick Schilz; a daughter, Edith Heyer; two brothers; Bill and Rich Schilz; two sisters, Margaret Heskett and Marie Hampton; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A Funeral mass will be conducted Monday, March 5, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. from Our Lady of the Lake in Hendersonville with Father William Bevington officiating. Burial will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The Schilz family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Hendersonville Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
