SMITH, Etta Pitcock McClure, age 86, of Nashville. Born October 15, 1919, in Fayetteville, TN. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her generous nature and loving presence will be deeply missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. She was a member of Eastland Baptist Church, Hendersonville First Baptist Church, and Park Avenue Baptist Church. She belonged to the Apartment Managers Association and Tennessee Board of Realtors. She enjoyed golfing with the NWSGA and T & C Golf Association. She loved traveling, sewing, and gardening. Daughter of the late Richard and Annie Askins Pitcock. Preceded in death by her husbands; James F. McClure, Sr., Harold E. Smith, her granddaughter; Brenda Elaine Binkley, brothers; John, Askins, and G.W. Pitcock, sisters; Loren Barnes, Ailene Lewter, Alta Wade, Virginia Barnes, Lula Henning, and Martha Burgett. Survived by her loving children, Ann Jordan Ed, of Nashville, Delores Hitchcock Russ, of Madison, James McClure Belinda, of Hendersonville, and Janet Carpenter Tony, of Old Hickory. Grandchildren; Charlotte Binkley Drake Robert, of Franklin, Kenny Carpenter, of Old Hickory, and Logan and Houston McClure, of Hendersonville. Sister; Mary Agnes Edde, of Thompson Station, and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be family and friends, honorary pallbearers will be The Young at Heart Sunday School Class at Park Avenue Baptist Church, and the Twilight Golf Group at McCabe Golf Course. Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 17, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Mowery officiating. Interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of NHC Hendersonville for their kind and loving care.
