HERRELL, Ernest Lee-Age 84. Passed away April 21, 2008. Born in Boone, N.C., Ernest grew up in Johnson City, Tenn., and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He is fondly remembered by customers and co-workers at Cain-Sloan Co., where he retired after 32 years as men's wear buyer. Whether selling shirts, teeing off at Harpeth Hills Golf Course or hoping for a winning hand at his weekly poker night, he enjoyed life to the fullest and passed that love of life down to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce G. Herrell; children, Linda Sweeney Michael, Keith Herrell Robin, Marjo Mecke ; grandchildren, Patrick Sweeney, Shannon Sweeney Call Cory, Nathan Herrell, Caroline Herrell, Melissa Mecke, Christopher Mecke; great-grandson, Britton Sweeney Call. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Dr. L. Joseph Rosas III officiating. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers, Michael Sweeney, Patrick Sweeney, Nate Herrell, Christopher Mecke, Cory Call, Tommy Keifer.
