BURRUS, Emily Ann Abernathy, age 78 of Hendersonville. June 1, 2007. Born and raised in Pulaski, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Raymond Grady and Mrs. Maude Dunnavant Abernathy, and husband, Dr. William Camp Burrus. A loving and devoted daughter, wife, and mother, Mrs. Burrus received an R.N. degree from Vanderbilt University. Survived by daughters, Amy Pat Flynn, Beth Greg High, Sue Gary Pinsly; son, Dr. R. Grady Kathy Burrus; grandchildren, Chris Amy Serck, Kathleen Matt Thurber, Matt Serck, Leah High, Boone High, Elliot Pinsly, Melissa Pinsly, Jeremy Pinsly, Sam Pinsly, Emily Burrus, Anna Burrus, and Cam Burrus. Also survived by sisters, Elise Duane Rost, of Pulaski, Martha and Marie Abernathy, of Nashville; brother, David Abernathy, of Pulaski; mother-in-law, Ella B. Burrus, and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, June 4, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home, and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with The Reverend Dr. Michael Williams, The Reverend Dr. Ben Alexander, and The Reverend Lynn Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
