Elmer Bristol Jones “Butch” age 73 of Cottontown, passed away on August 27, 2022 at the Nashville VA Medical Center.
Butch was born on January 3, 1949 to the late Elmer and Jean Elizabeth Jones in Portland, Tennessee. He spent most of his life in the area other than serving his country in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after deploying to Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart for sustaining injuries during combat. After returning home from the war, Butch continued his passion of horsemanship and contributed tremendously to the horseback riding community for the rest of his life. Butch was also a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
He lived an honorable life of service to everyone and hated to be a burden to anyone. He surrounded himself with only people he loved and everyone that was a part of his life were very special to him. He should forever be remembered as a good and loyal friend and a loving member to both his family and the community around him.
In addition to his parents, Butch is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Magurie.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Clay Jones; siblings, Elaine Jones, Earl (Lisa) Jones and Dottie (Ron) Stroupe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
