Ellen Marie Dudney Sutton, 77, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away at her home in Shackle Island on Thursday June 2, 2022. She was born in 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Pearl Dudney, her husband of 41 years, Floyd Kenneth Sutton, sister Betty Hyder Sutton, and husband of 13 years, John Kemper. Ellen is survived by her children, Floyd Kenneth Sutton, Jr. and Kimberley Sutton Corbin (Billy). She was “Grammy” to her grandchildren, Ashton Corbin Dorris (Christopher) and Nolan Kenneth Corbin, and great-grandmother to Ezrah Noelle Dorris and coming in October, Boston Christopher Dorris. She is also survived by her sisters, Thelma Moore, and Kathy Schmidt. She was a member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed studying the bible and serving others. She loved writing and telling stories, meeting new friends, and sharing her love for the Lord. Ellen retired from DuPont in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She enjoyed playing guitar, mandolin, and bass fiddle, singing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Visitation will be held Monday June 6, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home Goodlettsville and on Tuesday June 7, 2022, from 10 AM until 12 noon at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A celebration of life service will be held at the church Tuesday at noon followed by interment at Beech Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Jeff Thompson, George Davis, Steve Brown, Todd Brown, Tommy Brown, and Tyler Caron. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Eddie Thompson, and Justin Caron.
