Ella Latrice Cartwright was born on October 28, 1957, in Davidson County, Tennessee. She transitioned on March 25, 2019, in Dallas, Texas, at age 61. Ella graduated from high school in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She went on to attend college with a focus on Business Administration. Ella enjoyed a career as a teacher at Children's World Daycare. She also worked at Chambrel at Club Hill Assisted Living. After 20 years of service, she retired. Ella delighted in watching television. She particularly enjoyed investigative television programming and court TV. Admired by family and friends as a true diva, she also enjoyed shopping. Affectionately regarded as "Grandma" by her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Ella was outgoing, loving, and loyal. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Smith; and her sister, Pamela Whitehead. Those left to cherish sweet memories include her husband of over 35 years, Milton Arthur Cartwright, Sr.; son, Terry Lewis and his wife, Zeineb Lewis; son, Terrance Lewis and his wife, Amelia Delgado-Lewis; daughter, LaShonda Lewis; son, Milton Arthur Cartwright, Jr. and his wife, Melissa Cartwright; grandchildren: Anthony Lewis, Maya Lewis, Leyla Lewis, and Jamir Lewis; mother, Claudia Jones Smith; siblings: Angelia Castleberry, LaToyia Smith, Jerry Smith, Curtis Johnson, and Luther Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
