Elizabeth Lane, 99, of White House passed away Sunday September 12, 2021 at her home. Born February 26, 1922 in Jackson County, TN she was the daughter of the late Lee Meadows and Ella Jones Meadows. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband of 60yrs., Edward S. Lane; two sons, Ray and Eddie Lane; three grandsons, Mark, Darrell and Ben Lane; and her five siblings. As a child, Elizabeth, her mother and her five siblings traveled on a flat boat down the Cumberland from Jackson Co. to Old Hickory, TN. She was one of the first telephone switchboard operators in White House and had also worked as a cashier at the Dollar Store. While her late husband was serving in the Navy, she made two trips by train to Boston to see him. Family was extremely important to Elizabeth. She loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son Terry Lane (Barbara Costellow); grandsons, David Lane & Jeff Lane; granddaughters, Crystal Reddick (Joe) and Angela Isabell (Tommy);Brenda Chamberland (Gene), Cindy Pratt, daughter-in-law, Gail Hicks; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, White House, TN Friday at 11 AM followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from4 – 7 PM and Friday from 10 – 11 AM. Pallbearers will be David Lane, Jeff Lane, Kolby Lane, Tyler Lane, Luke Reddick and Caden Isabell.
