Elizabeth Mayberry Abbott, 95, died Saturday, March 14, 2020, in Hendersonville. Born in Nashville, April 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Kirby C. Mayberry and Gladys E. (Gough) Mayberry. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. Abbott, Jr.; a grandson, Russell Abbott; and three siblings. A graduate of East High School and Draughon's Business College she was retired as office manager of Ross Bryan Associates Inc. Structural Engineers. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Goodlettsville where she was in the Sr. Adult Ministry and a member of the Keenagers class. Reading, current events and her quilt collection were among her many interests. She had several notable accomplishments in her life; however, she was particularly proud of her record for walking 2 miles each day since reaching the age of 62. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Anne (Jay) Abbott Hitt, Hank Abbott, and David (Karen) Abbott; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her sister, Eileen Moody. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a date to be announced. A private family committal will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Goodlettsville.
