MURPHY, Eldridge, "George" Lee, Age 52, Passed away at home on October 9, 2012 surrounded by his loving and devoted family, after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was a loving and caring husband, dad, grandfather and brother, with many caring and loving family and friends. Worked for TDOT Hwy Marking for 32 years. He served as a fire fighter for 20 years on the Bellevue Volunteer Fire Dept. and Pegram Volunteer Fire Dept., where he also served as fire chief for 9 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Eldridge "Jim" Lester Murphy and mother, Dorothy "Dot" Helen Stevens Murphy. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kim Murphy; children, Vanessa Charlie Calhoun, Kayla and Jeremy Murphy; grandsons, Dakota and Houston Calhoun; sister, Linda Marvis Perry; niece, Charlotte Barnes; nephew, Jason Perry. A life celebration service will be 2pm on Thursday, October 11, 2012 with Martin Pyle officiating. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Jeremy Murphy, Charlie Calhoun, Jason Perry, Johnny Taylor, David Becker, Jesse Gammons, Paul Underhill and Michael Hayes will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dakota and Houston Calhoun, Johnny Hooper, Jeff Curtis, Mark Adcox, Ronnie Mills, Bellevue Volunteer Fire Dept. and Pegram Volunteer Fire Dept. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harpeth High School Band of Blue, PO Box 352, Kingston Springs, TN 37082.
