BROWN, Edith Emogene (Jean) Eldridge, Age 88, died at her home in Ridgetop, TN on June 14, 2011. Mrs. Brown was preceded by her husband, George Tucker Brown; her parents, Moore and Zula Eldridge; son, George Thomas Brown; brother, Charles (Fleda) Eldridge; sisters, Jesse Eldridge, Lucille Woody, and Cola Dunn. Mrs. Brown is survived by her sister, Wilma Jo Barker; daughter, Rebecca (Larry) Morgan; sons, David Brown & Rick (Janet) Brown; grandchildren, Mike (Cheryl) Morgan, Melanie Morgan & Lauren Brown; great grandchildren, Kayla Kent, Tucker Dutton, and Hannah & Houston Morgan. Mrs. Brown was born in Monterey, TN on January 1, 1923. She graduated with the Monterey High School class of 1943. She was an outstanding athlete and her basketball team went to the state championship that year. On July 2, 1945, she married Tucker, her high school sweetheart. They were blessed to be married over 60 years. Mrs. Brown was a wonderful, Christian lady who lived for the Lord, her family and her friends. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Hillview Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN and over the years attended First Baptist Church of Madison, TN, and Monterey First Baptist Church in Monterey, TN. Visitation will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville Thursday from 4-8 pm, and Friday June 17 from 10 am until service time at 11 am with Pastor Stephen Ramsey officiating. Immediately following the funeral service, Mrs. Brown will be taken to Monterey, TN for a graveside service at Whitaker Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Brown�'s nephews, Charles Medley Eldridge, Wayne Eldridge, Don Woody, John Bumpus, Blake Tuggle & Joey Barker. Nephew Jack Woody is an honorary pallbearer along with other family members and long time friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
