Edgar Collins

Edgar “Leon” Collins, age 76 of Hendersonville, passed away on December 8, 2022, at Skyline Medical
Center. He was born on February 2, 1946, in Wewahitchka, Florida to the late LeRoy and Silvie Collins.
Leon worked for 32 years as a machinist at ATT until his retirement to spend more time with family. He is
a current member of Highland Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 20 years and served as a
Pathfinder Leader at Madison SDA for many years.
Leon enjoyed gardening, camping at Dale Hallow Lake Campground and fishing the Obey River. He was
an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking for big groups like for the Pathfinders with his wife Vicki Collins by
his side. Leon was known for being able to fix anything mechanical and very handy with building and his
hands, it may take him a day to figure it out but before long it was fixed and/or built.
Leon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vicki Collins; children, Jason Collins, and Heather (Chad)
Stephens; grandchildren, Alexis (Josh) Homan, Rachel Collins, Jessica Collins, Maelea Stephens, Shelby
Stephens and Shaylee Stephens; Great Granddaughter Lynnleigh Homan; Siblings: Sadie Braswell, Rose
Carter, Cathy Anderson, Jessie Norton, Ann Roper, Troy Collins, Martha O'Bryan and respected spouses,
to include a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 4pm in the Chapel of Cole and
Garrett Funeral Home in White House. The immediate family will receive family and friends on Saturday
from 2pm until the time of service. Leon will be inurned at Nashville National Cemetery at a later date.
