Died April 26, 2006 at his hime in Hendersonville, TN. He was a native of Charleston, West Virginia. Bill graduated from West Virginia University in 1951 and was immediately commissioned as a Cavalry Officer in the United States Army. He served 28 years including duty in both the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was awarded the Legion of Merit with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, General Staff Identification Badge, National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge twice and the United Nations Service Medal. Following retirement he obtained his real estate license in 1982 and in 1983 became partner and managing broker of Coldwell Banker, Lakeside Realtors in Hendersonville, TN. He was active in his church, St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Gallatin serving on the finance committee, school board and was instrumental in the establishment of the parish elementary school. He also was an avid boater and enjoyed time with his family, friends and his dog Freckles. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou; son Lieutenant General Walter Skip Sharp and wife Joanne; daughter Mary Pat Sinclair and husband Chris; daughter Trina Bachman and husband Gary; daughter Judi Terzotis and husband Bob; grandchildren Elizabeth Weyrauch and husband Paul, Steven Sharp, Patrick and Kelly Sinclair, Kevin Sharp, Tracey Bachman, Amy Bachman and Wade Trey McMinn; great grandchildren Evan Siclair, Emma and Rose Weyrauch; brother David Corky Bedinger and wife Sharon. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John Vianney Elementary School, 501 North Water Avenue, Gallatin, TN 37066.
