Douglas M. Ross, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. He was born in Sumner County to the late Booker and Minnie Gross Ross. Mr. Ross was a United States Navy Veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jo M. Dallas; great-grandchild, Mary Charlotte Holmes; and a sister, Ruby Piper. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Clematine Ross of Gallatin; granddaughter, Dawn Ralph Daryle of Hendersonville; great-grandchildren Jodi Haworth of Hendersonville, Holly Holmes of Hendersonville; brother, Ewing Ross of Gallatin; sister, Margaret Todd of Gallatin. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene L. Martino Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Gallatin Memory Gardens at Crestview where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., and will resume on Thursday at 12:00 Noon until service time.
