Peterson, Douglas Dwayne, age 34 entered into heaven after a long and courageous battle with muscular dystrophy. Preceded in death by his brother Larry, who was there to joyfully greet him at Heavens gates. What a reunion that was as my son's were reunited free from pain and sorrow and no more burdens to bear. Doug lived life to the fullest always thanking the Lord for each day he woke and was able to make someone else smile. If you didn't love Doug, you truly didn't know him. He was the most generous, kindest, person who was always putting others first and him last. On October 28, 2005 Doug proposed to the love of his life Teresa Moore. What a glow they both shared. April 2, 2006 was to be there wedding day. To Teresa I want to thank you for the sincere love for Doug you had and giving him complete happiness before his death. "Is it April yet?". Thank you Rhonda Cope for caring for my son while I worked , and loving him as if he was your own. Thank you to all his friends at Belcourt Terrace, Richland Place, Union Hill Raceway, Beech Bend Raceway. To the staff at Baptist who tried in vain to save my beloved son Doug.He loved and trusted you all! We were truly blessed to have known you all. To Dr. Peacock, George Crosley, Douglas Pearse thank you for giving him the extra good quality of life he had to the end. To my dad for all the good times we shared "I really did love you ". Doug leaves behind his beloved parents Kathy and Larry Peterson of Nashville, many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, grandmother, Irene Nicely; pets, Dobie and Princess. Special devoted friends Grace and Jim Saffer, Gayle and John Paul, Brandon and Michelle King, David Butzler, Frank Carter, Terry Jullian , Leon Robison and Mark Poe.
