Douglas Martin

Douglas Miles Martin (aka “Fat Ass”), age 62 of Paris, TN, passed away at his home on February 26, 2023. He was born in San Francisco, CA on July 21, 1960, to the late Joseph (Joe) Douglas and Patricia (Pat) Martin.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Brenda Martin; three daughters Melanie, Emalee and Rebeka Martin; sisters Patsy (Carl) Moss, Debbie (Tom) Williams, and Lale Lorie Sexton; seven grandchildren De’shawnna, Jayceon, Dezmond, Dezirae, Jazlynn, Jacorey and DJ; nephews Hunter Sexton, Joseph and Josh Moss.

Douglas was raised in the Goodlettsville area and resided in Paris, TN. He attended Goodlettsville High School and graduated in 1979. He acquired the nickname “Fat Ass”, whom many of his friends know him by. Doug had many jobs and enjoyed being around people. He loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a man of God. Douglas loved the Lord and wanted to share him with others.

Douglas had many adventures in life. The Love of his life was Brenda, his wife, children and grandchildren. Family was the center of his world. Many friends have expressed what a wonderful friend Douglas has been over the years. We are truly blessed to have had him in our lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Martin Home Place located at 2886 Lower Walkers Creek, Goodlettsville, TN 37072 on Friday March 10th, 2023, at 5pm. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held after the service.

A time in the service will be allowed if anyone would like to say a few words about the life of Douglas Miles Martin.
